$2500 Reward Offered by Mease Family for Stolen Statue

Kipper Mease Statue by artist Bridgett MongeonOn Sunday, December 8th, the beloved bronze statue of Kipper Mease was stolen from the Kipper Mease Sports Complex in Pasadena, TX. Created by artist Bridgette Mongeon and donated by the Mease family, the statue honors Kipper, the son of Roy D and Sue Mease.

Kipper was a sophomore at Sam Houston State University when he tragically passed away in a car accident in 1982. He was an active community member, playing baseball and basketball for Deer Park High School.

Keeping Kipper's memory alive has been a cherished mission for the Mease family, and the Harris County Pct 2 Park, Kipper Mease Sports Complex, was named in his honor.

The theft was reported to the Harris County Sheriff's Department on Monday by the Bay Area Senior Softball Association Past President, who also noted the theft of their equipment from the park on Sunday.

There is concern that the statue may be scrapped for its bronze value.

The Mease family is offering a $2500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for stealing the statue.

Please contact PasadenaTexas.com if you have any information, and we will forward it to Roy Mease.
